The field of 68 is set and the March Madness begins. Millions of people will be filling out brackets this week and most will be hoping they can accurately predict this year’s cinderella.
Before becoming the face of the Golden State Warriors, Steph Curry was leading Davidson in the NCAA Tournament. Davidson became the Cinderella of the 2008 tournament and this is where most people were introduced to the Splash Brother.
Seven years later, everyone still remembers his magical run to the Elite 8. Davidson is back in the dance and they will face the Iowa Hawkeyes in the second round of the tournament. Iowa is the higher seed, but they are relieved they will be facing the Wildcats without Curry.
Iowa and Davidson exchanged tweets earlier today and Iowa wanted to make sure Curry won’t be making a surprise appearance:
.@DavidsonCollege just to confirm…Steph Curry is out of eligibility, right?

Iowa remembers what Curry was able to accomplish as he led the Wildcats to Elite 8. He scored 40, 30, 33, and 25 points in four tournament games. Davidson beat three quality programs: Gonzaga, Georgetown, and Wisconsin. Curry and the Wildcats put up a great fight against the Kansas Jayhawks, but they came up two points short and the Cinderella story was over.
While Davidson didn’t get the storybook ending, they did enough to earn some recognition. They find themselves in the tournament again and Iowa will be their first test. Can they start off by pulling off another upset.
