Steph Curry and Klay Thompson were selected as All-Stars to represent the Golden State Warriors and Steph’s week in New York was flat out phenomenal. On top of winning the 3 Point Contest, Steph and Under Armour threw an event to launch their global brand campaign, The Book of Will. Curry’s popularity and electrifying style of play has given him worldwide popularity and it’s only the beginning.
Steph put Under Armour on the basketball map and made the Clutchfit line noticeable to sneaker fans. With that success, he was then rewarded with his first official signature shoe, the Curry One. For $119.99, the Curry One is an affordable basketball shoe compared to the market leader Nike’s signature athletes (Kobe, LeBron, KD).
The Curry One features a new upper material called Anafoam. In layman’s terms, Anafoam is a mixture of foam and Under Armour’s stretch textile to provide a lightweight, breathable and supportive structure.
Aside from the tech specs, the Curry One features so many details dear to the Davidson Wildcat. The SC30 logo is plastered on the tongue, insole, and heel cup. Another personal touch is Steph’s favorite 4:13 Bible verse in which the phrase ” I can do all things…” is labeled behind the tongue.
Our friends over at Kicksologists reviewed the Under Armour Curry One and this is their “First Impression”:
