The Golden State Warriors resume their regular season as their All-Stars made a huge splash during the All-Star Weekend in New York. It won’t be easy as the Spurs visit Warriors Ground after their matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Warriors will look to tie with Atlanta with their 43rd victory of the season.
The Warriors will be wearing the Chinese New Year jerseys and they will be looking to get off to a good start in the second half of the season.
1st Quarter
The Warriors got off to a hot start and you can tell they were eager to return to the court. After an 8-0 run to start the game, the Spurs calmed things down a bit and they cut the lead to two after a couple of buckets from big man Aron Baynes. The Warriors cooled down offensively and the Spurs defense was to blame. This allowed San Antonio to take the lead with less than five minutes left in the first quarter. An Andre Iguodala triple gave the Dubs a two point lead, but the rest of the quarter would be a heavyweight championship match and they kept trading blows. Boris Diaw came off the bench and quickly became a factor. After a Manu Ginobli layup, the Spurs took a two point lead into the second.

2nd Quarter
The second unit makes it return after the long break and they picked up where they left off. Leandro Barbosa hit a three and Marreese Speights hit two free throws to give them a three point lead. Baynes and Diaw continue being a problem for the Dubs and they quickly brought the Spurs back. With eight minutes remaining, the Spurs now had a three point lead. The Spurs were able to maintain the lead for a good part of the quarter, but then Curry and Thompson then took over the game. They exploded in the last three minutes of the game and they gave the crowd some incredible highlights. The Warriors went on a 10-0 run and they led 62-55.

3rd Quarter
The Warriors kept their foot on the gas and they were quick off the gate. A 7-0 run helped the Warriors extend their lead to 14. Both teams struggled to score in the first six minutes of the quarter. They were getting buckets, but the lead remained steady. They were trading baskets and the Spurs couldn’t muster the momentum to mount a comeback. Buckets from Splitter and Ginobli cut the lead to 10, but the Warriors once again finish the quarter strong. Curry led the way and the Dubs went on a 11-0 run They hit three consecutive three pointers and the lead was now 21. At the end of three, the Warriors led 89-68.

4th Quarter
The Warriors get their fourth consecutive triple to start the fourth quarter and now they were up 22. It looked like the Warriors were going to cruise to a victory in the fourth, but the Spurs hit two triples in a row and the lead was down to 15 and there was a little less than eight minutes left. It was raining triples left and right and it wasn’t only the Splash Brothers, it was the likes of Green and Iguodala. After that, the Warriors went cold and the Spurs went on a 7-0 run and the lead was cut to 15 again. Five straight points from Harrison Barnes kept the lead secure for the Warriors and the time was on their side. The reserves went into the game and the Warriors get a statement victory to start the second half of the season.
