David Lee was looking to have strong season this year, but it has not started the way he had hoped. Lee missed the season opener against the Sacramento Kings and his presence was missed. Lee is an outstanding passer from the low post, which would help with the turnover problem.
Lee has been dealing with a hamstring issue since the last game of the pre-season, but there is no timetable set for his return. Hamstrings can take some time to heal, so it’s hard to predict when the big man will be back. One thing is for sure, he will miss tonight’s game against the Lakers according to Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle:
Warriors shootaround: David Lee out tonight; Klay Thompson in for long-term http://t.co/dC1Dd9b4mC

The Warriors are fortunate they have a lot of depth on the roster. Festus Ezeli looks like he’s going to be Andrew Bogut’s back-up, but he is still under a minute restriction. Marreese Speights was quite a surprise in the season opener, he dropped 16 points and looked very active in the paint. Draymond Green will take Lee’s place in the starting line-up and will try to build on the double-double he had against the Kings.
Lee’s name was throw around a lot this summer and with Klay signing his extension yesterday, many believe the Warriors will try to move the two time All-Star. Lee looked like he was liking the new offense, but will the Warriors make a move for salary cap purposes. For now, all we can hope is that he’s able to recover from this hamstring injury and return to the court to see the Warriors’ offense in full force.
