Throughout the pre-season, Andrew Bogut and David Lee have thrived in Coach Kerr’s new offensive system. As crucial pieces, the big men were passing, scoring, and playing at a much higher level than they did last season. Together on the court, the Warriors looked like they had their chemistry back and were on the same page.
Golden State will need to avoid injuries and compete as a complete roster to claim their spot as the NBA’s elite. At this time, it looks like the season will start out a bit more rugged than expected. According to Rusty Simmons of the SF Chronicle, the Warriors’ starting power forward missed practice with an injured hamstring:

Last season, Lee has had hamstring issues also but was able to return in time for the playoffs. Besides this injury, Lee was quite healthy playing on average 33 minutes in 69 games for the Warriors. He averaged 18 points and 9 rebounds per game. With question marks still lingering with the front court depth, they will certainly lack in that department without Lee on the floor.
The journey for the Larry O’Brien trophy will begin on the road in Sacramento. The Kings may have been irrelevant in recent years, but the bigs will have their hands full attempting to contain DeMarcus Cousins. After the Kings, the Warriors will welcome November and the Los Angeles Lakers to the Oracle Arena.
