First Quarter:

Andre Iguodala was very happy to be back in the starting line-up and it showed early. Iguodala would score the first five points for the Warriors, including one from long distance. The Heat responded with some quick buckets from Luol Deng. Surprisingly, the Splash Brothers started the game 0-2. Chris Bosh is enjoying life after LeBron, he’s the main option now. Warriors looked a little sloppy early, especially on the defensive end. The Heat took a small lead early on, but Thompson and Curry finally got some buckets and gave the Warriors a one point lead. Brandon Rush and James Michael McAdoo checked into the game with about three minutes left in the first period. The Warriors went a little cold with the time winding down, the Heat took advantage and they increased their lead to seven. 12 unanswered points for the Heat, Warriors couldn’t buy a bucket. Draymond Green stopped the bleeding with a shot from beyond the arc. The Warriors went on a run of their own and they end the first quarter being down 27-23. Luol Deng led a scorers with eight points.

Second Quarter:

No starters for the Warriors to start the second quarter. Teams trade baskets, but Deng is playing well and the Warriors were in trouble of the letting this one get away. The Warriors kept getting baskets to keep the deficit manageable. Green really came out aggressive and was active early on. Aaron Craft had five points in the second quarter and a Green layup gives the Warriors a one point lead, which makes Erik Spoelstra call a time-out. The starters made their way back into the court midway through the second. David Lee and Klay Thompson started getting involved and helped the Warriors increase their lead. The highlight of the quarter is Curry’s beautiful pass which led to a Thompson slam.

Third Quarter:

Thompson started off the scoring in the third quarter with a three-pointer. Heat responded with a Shawne Williams three but Thompson sank another three pointer to offset the tie. Lee continued to play well pushing his shooting percentage to 10-for-10 and scoring 22 points with half of the third quarter remaining. Williams continued to keep the Heat in striking distance by hitting his fourth three-ball in four attempts. The Warriors played great D for a possession and forced the Heat into a rare 24 second shot clock violation. Golden State capitalized off a Chalmers bad pass and Curry found Thompson for another long-ball to push the lead to 83-72. Thompson has 23 points. With 4:37 left in the third quarter, Lee and Thompson take turns leading the game in scoring. After the Miami timeout, Lee grabs a seat in exchange for Green. Golden State can’t keep the Heat away as the Heat keep the game competitive but at the end of the third, Warriors led by 12. Thompson finishes the quarter leading the game with 25 points.

Fourth Quarter:

The fourth began with Bogut, Green, Holiday, Barbosa, and Craft on the floor. Deng and Napier are doing everything they can to keep pace with the Warriors bringing the deficit to seven points. After a Brazilian Blur layup on the first possession, the Warriors have struggled to find offense missing five straight shots. James Ennis made two free throws and stole the ball from Craft to bring the lead down to three. Holiday cleaned up another Green miss and tipped in the ball to stop the drought. Curry’s presence was felt immediately as he dropped in another three pointer to give the team some breathing room. The Heat continue to score on what seemed like every possession by getting free throws or making jumpers. With 5:17 to go, Chalmers drained a left corner three to take a 103-102 lead. Seven minutes in and the Warriors still only have seven points. Napier saw another opportunity to strike and scored another Miami three. There must have been a lid on the basket, the Warriors cannot find the bottom of the net; missing shot after shot. Looking bleak, Miami continued to play well slowly stretching the lead to 7 with two and a half minutes to go. Thompson got Williams to foul him in the act of shooting – both dropped in and the Warriors then trailed 104-110. Thompson continued to keep the Dubs alive by stealing the ball from Chalmers then making a 19 foot jumper but the hot hand from the Heat, Williams sealed the game with another three. Warriors let this game slip away and Miami got their first win.
