Less than 24 hours remain before the NBA Draft begins and numerous NBA teams will be looking to make some last minute deals. After reports that the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves were close to a blockbuster deal, many expected Kevin Love to become a Warrior in the coming days. However, the trade talks never materialized and they were eventually considered “dead”. The T-Wolves understand Love’s value might not get higher and must unload him soon if they want to get some good assets.
With the NBA Draft rapidly approaching, talks between the Warriors and Wolves have miraculously come back to life, according to Sam Amick via Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group:
USA Today’s @sam_amick to KNBR on GSW-MIN: “The expectation is that they will certainly have discussions leading up to tomorrow night.” — Diamond Leung (@diamond83) June 26, 2014
The quest for Love continues and the clock is ticking for the Warriors. The Warriors have some tradable assets, but they must decide if they want to use them to make a run at Love, or they might want to make a move that will get them a pick in this draft. Regardless of what decision they make, time is not on their side, so the next 18 hours will be very nerve wrecking.
The Warriors continue to be one of the most talked about teams this off-season and at this point they are expected to make a deal. Rookie coach Steve Kerr will have high expectations this upcoming season, but he will have a formidable roster that could be improved dramatically in the next few days.
