NBA: Detroit Pistons at Golden State Warriors

3. Helped Warriors Exceed Regular Season Expectations

Golden State won 51 games under Mark Jackson last season and no one expected the team to be this good in 2014-15. They are the first team to win 60 games this year. They have dominated the Western Conference, leading by a convincing number of games in the standings for a majority of the season.

Curry could have easily been angry about management canning Jackson from being the head coach, but put ego aside and adapted to rookie coach Steve Kerr.

The MVP is based on the regular season and not the playoffs. The Warriors have by far exceeded their expectations this season. Many experts didn’t expect the Warriors to do this well under a first-year coach and their injury-prone ways. Curry has been the heroic leader for the Dubs by the way he carries himself on and off the court.
