2. Fastbreak/Points In The Paint
Stats are always clutch to study and figure out what went right and what went wrong. For the Warriors, they were able to dominate on the fast break and inside the paint. Those two are huge indicators of your team’s success and the Warriors won the game because they did well in those two categories.
The Warriors finished the game with 30 fastbreak points and the Nets only had nine. Not only did the Warriors get up the floor with efficiency after every turnover/rebounds, but they also played good transition defense. It’s hard to lose when you have 30 points on the fastbreak, it’s demoralizing seeing the other team consistently score easy buckets in transition. Offensively, the Warriors are just special and they must keep up the aggressiveness.
The Warriors finished with 50 points in the paint, obviously most of those can be linked to the fast break points, which is why these two stats correlate. When almost half of your points come in the paint, you’re more than likely shooting a high percentage. Yesterday, the Warriors shot 45.6 percent, with most points coming from inside the paint or beyond the arc.
If the Warriors can continue this type of transition offense, they will win a lot of games this year.
