Nobody expected the Warriors to be this good. We all knew they were a good team and had potential to become a title contender, but to start the season 20-2, that’s just unbelievable.

What’s the biggest difference from last year’s team that lost in the first round of the playoffs? For starters, they’ve added some nice pieces to the second unit this past season that fit perfectly. Shaun Livingston and Leandro Barbosa have been playing extremely well as of late and Brandon Rush is slowly coming along.
The core remained the same from last season, but the the firing of Mark Jackson and acquisition of Steve Kerr has really catapulted this team to another level. Not to say that Jackson didn’t do a great job with this group of guys, but Kerr has continue to built on the foundation that was left by Jackson. Kerr’s impact can be seen most notably on the offensive end, the Warriors have been one of the best in the league on offense.
Our popular Warriors World Forum has their own take of the major differences between Kerr and Jackson. Here are the top 13.
No. 13 – Kerr Believes In Ball Movement
Steve Kerr’s emphasis has been ball movement since he arrived in Golden State. He never wants the ball to stay in one place for too long. The ball must be consistently moving, which gives the Warriors different scoring options.
Last year, the offensive was dominated by isolation plays and that didn’t maximize the Warriors strengths. The Warriors had to adjust to the frantic ball movement and initially had a problem with turnovers, but have corrected the issue since then.
The Warriors look like another version of the Spurs. Now, they’re not as good as the Spurs, because they’ve just started playing this brand of basketball, but this offense allows the Warriors to beat teams with a balanced attack. The Dubs don’t need to rely on Steph and Klay on a nightly basis.
Great. Now this site is turning into another one of those “click to see next page” garbages? If you want to give us a list, just give it to us – enough with the nonsense.
Great stuff! His ability to substitute is what I am most impressed with. MJax was terrible; he would constantly sub 3 to4 players…no continuity, it drove me crazy!
nellie was a master of this, waiting for a steel cage match with Joey Crawford…
